About

Hi! I’m Sarah-Jane.

I started The Engine Room after becoming increasingly frustrated with how many (not all) large agencies operate. The speed (or lack thereof) in which simple jobs took to complete alongside the unnecessary bureaucracy often impacted not only the work but also the agency-client relationship. It’s an unnecessary headache that no one needs.

To try and avoid this, The Engine Room was born. It’s simple, I believe in getting the job done with as little fuss as possible. Taking away the red tape, I work one-on-one with my clients to provide a tailored approach to their communications, one where no job is too big or too small. I have a global network of incredible professionals that support in specialist projects (photography, videography, etc).

I began my communications career over ten years ago when I joined adidas New Zealand. Rising through the ranks, I was appointed Marketing Manager at the age of 25, responsible for global events such as the 2011 Rugby World Cup. In 2012 I moved with adidas to Singapore, where I was responsible for all brand communications across South East Asia. After taking time to complete two masters degrees in Paris and London, the first in International Affairs and the second in Middle Eastern Studies I now live in the Netherlands with my Dutch partner and help businesses both small and large with all their communications needs.
